SATURATED NATURE
Artist Statement
As a child I was unafraid to play with color. With a box of crayons and a piece of paper, there was no telling what universe could be drawn from my imagination. From blue trees to pink skies, my mind held no limitations.
As I grew older, life lost its vibrancy and its vigor. I became confined by society’s rules and expectations, resulting in the suppression of creativity and courage as an artist. I painted my world in blacks, whites, and greys as a result of my blindness towards life’s beauty. I often found myself yearning to step out of my comfort zone without consequence and to surround myself in the utopia that was my imagination.
In my proposed photographic series, Saturated Nature, images of landscapes and its intricacies become enlarged and redefined through a lens of vibrant color, saturating the mind with endless possibilities. In deviating away from perpetual normality, I aim to inspire new perspectives and demonstrate how compelling life can be if you allow yourself to see things differently.
